SP22 CHARLOTTE MOTH
Lighting permutations – Sculpture made to be filmed, 2015

Charlotte Moth’s edition for The Spring Press is the schematic diagram that was developed to work out the timing for the work Sculpture made to be filmed, 2012. Within this sculpture, 6 units were made to have different patterns of lights. These have their own individual rhythms. When combined together with the use of a programming unit, there is a cycle of rhythms between the 6 units, working through an infinite permutation of possible variations.

Charlotte Moth was born in 1978 in Carshalton, UK. She has lived in Paris since 2007. Over the past 10 years, Charlotte has continually developed her collection of analogue photographs called the Travelogue. This collection – a type of image reserve – records and documents an itinerancy of movement between places, architectures, modes of thinking, and research into such places. Through conversations and collaborations developed within specific situations, works build in differing forms (film, books, installations), revealing an interdisciplinary way of working.
